A few years ago my dad bought a brand new lawnmower from the Stihl shop. He bought it on my birthday so he let me use it first.
My dad pulled the ripcord for me to start it up because usually brand new lawn mower’s have really stiff ripcords. I didn’t think the lawnmower would run well because the belts hadn't been worn in. Vroom. It ran better than I thought.
Throughout that year I mowed one acre of grass. While I was mowing I realised that the grass started to smell. It was the petrol, which had started to leak onto the grass. I showed dad and he said “luckily you caught it in time,'' it would have made the lawnmower blow up. “I’ll go and tighten the petrol valve now”.
After he fixed it I started mowing again. The catcher became full. I emptied the catcher and played with the grass. The grass felt soft and sticky. I started the lawnmower back up and mowed the rest of the lawns.
When I finished, I looked at the lawns and said to myself, “this is the best I've ever seen these lawns”. It reminds me of my grand dad because my dad was mowing his lawn when he died. Ever since I was told that story I’ve loved my dad’s lawn mower.
